Treated for appendicitis 26 November - 23 December 1940 (family oral history is that developing appendicitis and the the subsequent hospitalisation saved his life). During captivity, he was subjected to forced labour, including working in a brick factory at Deutsch Eylau (now Iława, Poland) between May 1943 and January 1945. Other forced labour camps were not listed on the form due to limited space. |
