356 | ![]() | Henry Thrale in 1777 Painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds. One of the Streatham Worthies. Hester Thrale bequeathed the portrait of her husband to her daughter Susannah Arabella Thrale, who in turn gave it to her sister Queeney. Queeney passed it to her daughter Lady William Osborne. On her death in 1892 the portrait passed to the Lansdowne family with Tulliallan Castle. During the early 20th Century the portrait was sold at Christies by the Marquis of Lansdowne. Hester Lynch Thrale wrote verses about this portrait. |
