Henry THRALE 1781 will

constituted and appoint my said wife and the said Samuel Johnson John Cator Jeremiah Crutchley and Henry Smith executrix and executors of this my last will And I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other wills and codicils by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last will and testament in respects whereof I the said testator Henry Thrale have to this my last will and testament contained in sixteen sheets of paper to this fifteen first sheets hereof set my hand and to this sixteenth and last sheet my hand and seal this seventeenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty one. H Thrale signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Henry Thrale as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as within witnesses Benjamin Robson, Elizabeth Morris, Surrivius Aust and Sooparius his clerk.

This will was proved at London the thirtieth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one before the worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper of Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of Hester Lynch Thrale widow the Relict of the deceased Samual Johnson Doctor of Laws John Cator Jeremiah Crutchley and Henry Smith Esquires the executors named in the said will to whom administration was granted of all singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased they having been first sworn only to administer.
