Christening Y [2] Gender Male Note One of the bachelor brothers - Ralph Norman Thrale and William Thrale - was deadly accurate with a catapult, whilst the other was equally accurate with a bow and arrow both were crack shots with a rifle [3] Note Ralph Norman Thrale gained local distinction by shooting a large panther which had escaped from a menagerie and which was loose around the parish worrying the sheep. Inherited the eight-acre farm and the Public House called the 'King William' (later called the 'Park Hotel' and then the 'Wicked Lady') after the death of his father. Ralph Norman Thrale and his brother William were also famed for their museum which used to be a favourite outing for the villagers during Easter. The museum contained, in the first part, almost every sort of indigenous vermin, from the field mouse up to the big dog fox; the second part consisted of every kind of flower and grass that the farm grew.
